5 benefits of working in a remote team

March 30, 2018 6 Comments

A remote team is made up of workers who work from different locations to achieve defined organizational objectives.

When you run a remote team, you are able to save huge on office running cost and spend more on the growth of your business and workforce. Below are five other benefits of running a remote team.

1. Increased productivity

Commuting to work especially in congested traffic is capable of affecting your productivity. Also, there is no room for meaningless meetings in a remote team. These two elements – commuting and impulse meetings – sometimes have negative effects on workers’ productivity.

2. Lower costs

A remote team helps you save cost as you won’t have to worry about office space (rent) employee welfare such as healthcare; especially if your workers are freelancers. Even as an employee, you get to save on transport fare or fueling for your car.

3. You get to eat more healthy lunch

Talk about work-life balance par excellence. At times, a hectic work day can make you eat junks because you might get too tired to put a good meal together. Working remotely, usually from your home can help you plan better meals compared to if you had to rush out in the mornings in order to beat heavy traffic and get to work early.

4. Access to diverse talents

When you hire staff from several countries, you open up opportunities for people with several backgrounds and experience to come on-board your team. This is so because your hiring process is not limited by barrier of location.

5. More job gets done

Remove commuting hours, distractions from co-workers or the bustle of the office, then add the concentration you get from working remotely especially from home then you are left with more output at the end of the day.

The above are just few of the numerous benefits of running or working in a remote team. Meet over 10 notable speakers at the Running Remote Conference 2018 who will take you deeper on the journey of remote work. See more info below.

I’ve always thought one of the biggest benefits of a remote team is the freedom from office gossip and drama! You get to mind your own business!

This puts a lot in perspective. Remote teams should def be more prominent than they are right now in society.

Yes, I agree that remote team/work should be widely spread. This would greatly increase productivity and save costs.

Very interesting post! Iโ€™ve never worked remotely, but this really makes me feel like working from home could be beneficial to everyone.

One of the reasons that concerns you as a business owner or professional is that blogging is an avenue that you can use to show your expertise.

    • You hear about audience targeting almost everyday: write for your audience, use hashtags, pick a niche, etc. The question now is how to go about audience targeting. I will answer this in my next post and I will use myself as an avatar (target audience). • Content marketing is majorly about using information to attract prospects to your business. Note the word prospect. What this means is that the content should be meant for your target market, not just anyone. It will make sense to only those who need your offer, not everyone. To achieve this, you need to define your audience (avatar), find out their problems, then solve it with valuable information which they are able to relate with.

My DM is always open if you need me to further break this down for you.

In one of my coming posts, I would present myself as an avatar and we will play a game where you comment how your business can be of value to me.
